Beat the Shark: Poker hand strength

—HAND SCORE

About the poker trainers

Beat the Shark's poker trainers teach Texas hold'em one idea at a time, starting with reading hands (your best five cards from seven, and which of two hands wins) and counting outs (the cards that make your hand, and the chance of getting one). Every deal is chosen to teach. No money or chips are involved. Then pot odds: whether the price is right to call; equity: both hands face up, how often each wins; pre-flop: heads-up shove or fold against the equilibrium; and ranges: counting the ways the Shark can hold a hand, and your equity against everything it shoves. And a heads-up match against the Shark with short stacks, where the result and the quality of your decisions are scored apart. And post-flop: the Shark goes all in with its range on the table, and you call or fold against all of it; and bluff or value: on the river, are there enough bluffs in the Shark's range to call? And bet sizing: with a good hand on the river, the bet that wins the most; and range detective: what the size of the Shark's bet says about its hand.
